چکیده

An experiment was carried out with North Carolina Mating Design II (NC II) derived F1 progenies along parents to know nature of gene action in regulating early maturity, yield and contributing traits. The principal objective this research identify best specific cross combinations based on combining ability analysis estimation heritability. Hybrids their were arranged a 8 by partially balanced lattice design two replicates. Heritability estimates revealed low broad sense heritability except traits i.e. days 50% flowering, 100% plant height 100-grain weight, which medium Narrow GCA effect 15 parental insignificant that assessed. x Gom-27, Gom-28, Gom-27 effects earliness. Genetic Heritability for Grain Yield and Its Related Characters in Spring Wheat (triticum Aestivum L.)

Seven F3 progenies and their 8 parental lines of spring wheat were evaluated for some genetic parameters viz., coefficient of variability (Cv), genetic variance (Vg), heritability percentage (h %) and genetic advance (GA) in 7 quantitative characters (grain yield and its associated traits). Highly significant (p≤0.01) differences were observed for all the characters viz. plant height, number of...

Response of Spring Wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) Quality Traits and Yield to Sowing Date

The unpredictability and large fluctuation of the climatic conditions in rainfed regions do affect spring wheat yield and grain quality. These variations offer the opportunity for the production of better quality wheat. The effect of variable years, locations and sowing managements on wheat grain yield and quality was studied through field experiments using three genotypes, three locations for ...

Genetic Analysis of Androgenetic Traits in Wheat (Triticum aestivum L.)

The objective of this study was to estimate genetic parameters and to investigate the type of gene action in controlling androgenesis in wheat. Two wheat cultivars of Grebe and Houtman were reciprocally crossed with two synthetic genotypes of Do1 and Pol and then a complete set of the parents, F1, reciprocal F1 (RF1), F2 and back-cross generations (BC1 and BC2) of each cross were used for anthe...

Distribution in genome of Quantitative trait loci (QTL) for yield and yield-related traits in common wheat (Triticum aestivum L.)

A major objective of quantitative trait loci (QTL) studies is to find genes/markers that can be used in breeding programs via marker assisted selection (MAS). From an extensive review, we surveyed the distribution of QTL for yield and yield-related traits on wheat genome. In order to identify the important regions involving in these traits, QTL meta-analysis was performed. As a result, 55 MQTL ...

Effects of elevated carbon dioxide and ozone on the growth and yield of spring wheat [Triticum aestivum L)

Spring wheat cv. Minaret was grown under three carbon dioxide (C02) and two ozone (O3) concentrations from seedling emergence to maturity in open-top chambers. Under elevated CO2 concentrations, the green leaf area index of the main shoot was increased, largely due to an increase in green leaf area duration. Biomass increased linearly in response to increasing CO2 (ambient, 550 and 680 ppm). At...
